▼ Operations on a streamer side
● First, change the settings to record and save streams.
Before you go live, tap “⋯More Settings” on the left side of the screen.
① Record and save streams to Archive ＜Default setting = ON＞
・Streams may be recorded for a max of 8 hours and will be kept for 7 days after the recording begins.
・Archived streams will be kept for 7 days regardless of Publish/Unpublished status.
・Only normal streams can be recorded. You can’t archive VS or Group Calls.
・Only the live stream and the comments will be recorded and saved. Please keep in mind, you won’t see gift animations or marquees.
② Automatic post of videos ＜Default = OFF＞
＜Update on 26.10.2022＞
※ “Auto Publish Archive” is toggled on by default after October 26, 2022.
※ If you had toggled on “Auto Publish Archive” and then turned it off, it will remain off.
※ If you have never changed the default setting, “Auto Publish Archive is toggled on by default.
※ If you log out of your 17LIVE account, “Auto Publish Archive” will be toggled on once you log into the account, regardless of previous status.
After the recording ends, it is automatically published on your Profile page.
※Archived streams won’t be published even if the Archive live stream setting is turned ON (①). It requires you to turn ON the Auto publish archive setting as pictured in ②, or to “publish” the archived streaming in “Edit” (please refer to the next section regarding how to edit the archived streams).
※When you use this feature for the first time, please make sure that you read “Policy for Archive” below.
※After you turn ON Archive live stream (①), the following pop-up will be shown in case you switch to VS/Group Call mode on the Streaming Start screen or during the stream.
▼ Check/edit archived streams
● You can check and edit your archived streams by going to “My Page”＞”Streaming Archive”.
It is also possible to add a title, hashtag, thumbnail image, as well as edit Publish/Unpublish status.
※ Titles may be up to 50 characters in length.
※ You can add up to two hashtags.
▼ Viewer Guide
● There are two ways to watch archive videos:
① You can see a streamer’s archived videos by tapping the icon “🎥” on their profile page. Archived videos are displayed from newest to oldest. If the streamer doesn’t have any archived streams, nothing will be displayed.
※ If the archived stream is going to disappear in less than 24 hours, you’ll see a highlight in the upper part of the thumbnail.
＜Update on 10.01.2023＞
② You can now see archived videos on the Genre Page under Trending Archive Videos.
● When watching an archive video, you can like/unlike, follow the streamer, share the video, drag the progress bar and send “Offline Gifts” to streamers.
● Share Archived Streams
By tapping the arrow icon shown in the lower right side of the play screen, you can share the archived stream on platforms like LINE, Twitter, Facebook, Messenger, etc. or simply copy the link.
If someone who already has 17LIVE installed on their device taps on your link, it will take them directly to the archived stream.
※ If someone who taps on your link doesn’t have 17LIVE installed on their device, the link will take them to the streamer’s profile page.
Q1. Can anyone use the Archive Feature?
A1. Viewers and streamers (both contracted and non-contracted) can use the archive feature.
※Official accounts cannot use this feature.
Q2. Are there any restrictions or limitations regarding archived videos?
A2. You can record/publish as many archive streams as you’d like. Archived streams disappear after 7 days. If a stream exceeds 8 hours, anything past the 8 hours won’t be recorded.
Q3. Is it possible to edit an archived stream?
A3. It is possible to add the title of the streaming, hashtags, thumbnail images, or edit the status of Publish/Unpublish, but the video itself cannot be edited.
Q4. How do I notify my followers that I’ve just published a new archive video?
A4. A newly archived stream will be displayed in the upper part of the archived tab on your profile page. You can also share your archived stream to social media. Push notifications for this feature are currently in development.
Q5. Does the archive feature support VS or group call modes?
A5. Not yet! Currently, the archive feature only supports single-person live streaming mode. If the streamer switches to VS or group call mode during their stream, a message will be displayed in the archive video until the streamer returns to single-person mode, at which point the recording will resume.
● Here’s what the message looks like:
・The archive feature is only available in certain regions.
・If the account of the streamer is suspended or deleted, their archived streams will no longer be viewable.
